Adult Community Education (ACE)

The New Zealand Tertiary Education Strategy 2014-2019 sets out the Government’s vision for Tertiary Education.

Our work in the region reflects the following ACE priorities, enabling our people to make a valuable contribution to their future.

ACE Priorities

  • The targeting of learners whose previous learning was not successful
  • The raising of foundation skills
  • The strengthening of social cohesion

What’s On in ACE?

REAPs’ ACE role is supported via their national body REAP Aotearoa offering community education to adults and families.

WestREAP’s programme focuses on developing Digital Literacy, building ACE spaces in the community as potential learning hubs for people who are re-entering education, study or employment. Places like our community garden in Fitzherbert Street, Hokitika and Tech Space in Greymouth are hubs that bring people together.
